Respected Principal Dr.Rajendra S. Zunjarrao Sir, Teaching and Non-teaching Staff and Library Staff members paid Shraddhanjali to the Father of the Constitution of India Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar. Buddha Vandana Trisharan Panchsheel was also offered. Principal Sir explained the great contribution of the Great Indian Jurist, Economist, Politician and Social Reformer Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar. Prof.Subhash Karekar and Dr.Milind Bodke presented poems on life and works of the Multi-faceted Number One Scholar of the World Dr.B.R.Ambedkar (as recognized by Columbia University in August 2013).
The Library and Information Centre of Progressive Education Society's Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Shivajinagar, Pune-5 today on 26.11.2020 under the guidance of Respected Principal Dr.R.S.Zunjarrao Sir celebrated 'Constitution Day (National Law Day), also known as Samvidhan Divas.' Samvidhan Diwas is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950. The Government of India declared 26 November as Constitution Day on 19 November 2015 by a gazette notification. The Prime Minister of India, Hon’ble Shri. Narendra Modi made the declaration on 11 October 2015 while laying the foundation stone of the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar's ‘Statue of Equality’ memorial in Mumbai. 26th November was chosen to spread the importance of the constitution and to spread thoughts and ideas of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar.
Today on 20th October 2021, the Library and Information Centre of Progressive Education Society's Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Shivajinagar, Pune-5 celebrated ‘Maharashi Valmiki Jayanti’ as per the Maharashtra Government GR. Under the guidance of Respected Principal Dr. Rajendra S. Zunjarrao Sir, Librarian Dr. Shantashree Sengupta and Library Staff paid their respect to Maharshi Valmiki. Maharshi Valmiki wrote the story of Lord Rama, which came to be known as Ramayana.
All the rules of Physical distancing were followed during the programme. I am thankful to all the faculty members who were present during the programme.
The National Webinar was organised by the Library and Information Centre on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Ex-President of India Late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Vaachan Prerna Din and World Students' Day.
